The "Orfeo" myth somehow got mixed up with Bottom from "A Midsummernight's dream"... - this is a very personal painting, dedicated to a certain someone... and it's remarkable how many people of my personal acquaintance have been in no doubt as to who it represents...so I gather it must be a pretty accurate portrait. :-D
